Sweet and gorgeous Flurry is an 11 year old domestic shorthair cat who is a current favorite feline patient of The Oncology Service. Flurry developed a swelling near her wrist several months ago which began to cause her pain and discomfort as it grew larger. Due to suspicion that the mass could be cancerous, surgical removal was recommended but given the location, the only viable option was amputation of the affected leg. Her owners decided Flurry would be a good candidate to be a tripod and went forward with the surgery. Flurry recovered beautifully and has adapted completely to life on three legs. Due to the nature of the tumor on her wrist, additional care with chemotherapy was recommended and Flurry is currently midway through her treatment protocol which involves making visits to the hospital every three weeks. Flurry has had an excellent quality of life during her treatments and continues to rule the roost at home over her three much larger dog siblings. We wish Flurry well as she continues her care with us!
